I began this series of drawings in October of 2007 immediately after returning from a visit to Frankfurt, Germany and obtaining a new studio in Garnerville, NY.

My initial interest was political, social, and environmental. I began by identifying subjects from news stories, especially political scandals and the politicization of science. Further exploration into history, the transfer of information and the process of drawing itself has led these drawings to evolve into something more mysterious and fantasy-based.

As someone who has often changed domiciles, certain interior spaces link to unique periods of my life, spent in various cities, towns and neighborhoods. Architectural details and particular interiors provide a specificity to these drawings that I like to think resonate with sculptural concepts.

While I work through the actual details that would be required to execute each of these sculptural concepts, I strive to maintain as few tangible possessions as possible. Letting the realisation of the sculpture exist within the realm of uncertainty mirrors our perception of space through the filter of memory.
